You must have often heard people telling people or you to be real. Some say that because they feel its cool. Some say it cause its what 2Pac said. Some say it for clout. Some say it cause they wanna be in the next season of Roadies. But whatever it is, you must have heard it once. But what is real? In a world full of social media, marketing and exaggerations, how do you know what’s real. Is underselling yourself real? No. Its merely a defense mechanism. Is it not being on social media? Hell Naw! That is again a personal choice but that is definitely not being real. You are just shielded from bullshit which again makes it a defense mechanism. And don’t get me wrong. If you employ any such defense mechanism good for you. In a world crazier than Tony Montana in Scarface, which is constantly backed up by empty but strong validations in all forms, its is smart to be dodging all the noise. Its, Cathartic, almost.

I have a different idea of being real. The only real thing in the world is pain. You don’t and can’t fake it. It inspires reality in people. Not only in those who bear it but those around that person. If you are bearing pain, things become clear, priorities become plain and simple. You know how you would act when the chips are down. And you make no attempt to shroud that person. Because you are already too busy dealing with the pain. Pain unmasks people around you. It shows their real intentions behind being with you. If they aren’t with you, they will feel a burden and bail. If they are really there with you, you will know. In whatever way they will try to help you. Although I believe in going through pain. Active thinking under pain is a strength. That makes you truly invulnerable to pain. People associate pain with emotions. But pain is very factual. It is what it is. And I know you read that in that Meme’s voice.

Love can be faked. You can mistake other things like infatuation, attractions, affection or even familiarity for love. Hate can be faked. It take a tremendous amount of strength and energy to hate. It needs to be faked after a point of time, because let’s be honest its weird to not hate someone whom you have hated a lot. Its only when you see someone hating him as well you realise “Ah he’s okay, fuck that shit tho”. Respect that you feel from someone can be a charade. Respect that you feel for someone can be a need from the person disguised as respect. It can be a fear of that person disguised at respect. Or many just simply a people pleasing attitude. But if you are feeling pain. It’s there. Its right there. With you. And it won’t leave until you deal with the root cause or come to terms with it. Both of which offer growth.

People do all kinds of shit and only show things which will make them look like a boss.

Reality in itself is a utopian concept, which is something that will make the world bitter. And that's why people dodge it. They fear war. They fear truths. Mostly because they know shots will be fired at them as well. So is that lack of self-acceptance that make people run from being real? Maybe. Perhaps yes. But there is also a sense of a general upset in the societal framework which makes them lie and chase this fake utopia which they have sold to the masses as real. But hey this is not the first time we are seeing personal fears become the norm of the society because the guy is a good salesman. Remember Adolf Hitler? This is like that just way more sugar coated and the end image is collectively deemed aesthetic by the people and that’s why this propaganda is easy to get behind.

Once you start craving things that are real, you become liberated from mirages. from temptation. you become a true stoic. People might call you cynical but you will be focusing on where this is coming from and not just the face value of those words and that is bitter. That's why people abandon those who like reality while knowing that he or she is true. People then are procrastinators for truth. This also explains why people like being high. They aren't chasing utopia. Utopia is based on morals. They are chasing a heaven with pleasure. This just goes to say that people's idea of heaven is flawed. if heaven is a moral utopia, then even the best people won't survive there. Heaven then is not a result of karma but a function of bearing the truth. Its not that people aren’t worth of it. They'll just be scared of it and not survive there. They will call it hell. Which in turn shows us that everything we feel is just a function of our perception of it and our belief system and not the absolute truth.
